A shopper in Nyeri who wants a piece of Quickmart has until 5:00 pm today. After that, the offer of 2,000,000,000 shares at KES 7.50 each is closed.
Quickmart's offer announcement sets the rules. The smallest application is 500 shares, and above that, applications go up in steps of 100 shares. Once an application is in, it cannot be withdrawn.

Facts. You can apply online at the offer portal or by dialling the USSD code *483*803#. The USSD route is only for applications worth up to KES 250,000. Paper forms go to the placing agents by 5:00 pm today. Every applicant needs a CDS account, the account at the Central Depository where listed shares are held.
Facts. The shares are existing shares, sold by Sokoni Retail Kenya, the selling shareholder: an offer for sale, not new shares issued by the company. The Capital Markets Authority approved the offer; the announcement says that approval "is not to be taken as an indication of the merits" of the company or the shares.
What happens next
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| 6 November 2026 | Results announced; applicants told their allocation |
| 11 November 2026 | Shares credited to CDS accounts; refunds, if any, begin |
| 12 November 2026 | Shares start trading on the Nairobi Securities Exchange |
Facts. If buyers apply for less than 75% of the shares by today's close, the offer does not go ahead and all application money is refunded without interest.
What it means
For your money (Analysis): money paid today is committed until the results on 6 November at the earliest, and any refund only begins on 11 November. Because applications are irrevocable, there is no stepping back in between.
For the size of your application (Analysis): the steps of 100 shares mean not every amount buys a whole application. Work out the number of shares first, then the amount.
What to check before 5pm
- That your CDS account details are correct, because shares cannot be credited without one.
- That your application is 500 shares or more, in multiples of 100.
- The information memorandum dated 2 October 2026, published at the official offer site, which the announcement tells applicants to read in full.
Our Receipt on the Quickmart offer of 14 October sets out the offer documents' figures in full. Afronomics and its founder hold no Quickmart shares and earn nothing from this offer.
