Terms
What is free, what needs a key, what is Enterprise
Free, no key
- Reading the site: every page, table and chart.
- Quoting and citing figures with the credit “Source: Afronomics” and a link.
- The JSON API and CSV downloads for the latest 12 months (by auction or settlement date), up to 100 rows a call.
- For research, journalism, teaching and non-commercial apps.
A key: pilot or paid licence
- Full history (rows older than 12 months), more than 100 rows a call, and bulk CSV beyond the free window.
- Any commercial use, including internal use at a fund, bank, insurer, DFI or other firm: analysis, models, committee papers and client work.
- Start with a free 30-day pilot key, then Analyst, Team and API, or the Startup licence for one product.
Enterprise only: redistribution
- Passing the data, or files and feeds built from it, to clients or other third parties, or reselling it.
- No other plan includes redistribution. Enterprise also covers several teams, custom delivery and a service agreement, from $5,000 a month.
Can a fund, bank or firm use the free API for its own internal analysis? No. Internal use at a fund, bank or firm is commercial use and needs a pilot key or a paid licence. The free tier is for research, journalism, teaching and non-commercial apps.

The site, every table and chart, and the JSON API and CSV for the latest 12 months (up to 100 rows a call), for research, journalism, teaching and non-commercial apps, with the attribution line kept.
Startup
KES 7,500/mo
Commercial use inside one startup product: a key with the full history, charts and figures shown to your own users with attribution, and an email or webhook on every new result. No redistribution: that is Enterprise only.
Analyst
$250/mo
One user: the web tables and full-history CSV downloads, with a download key. One analyst or economist who needs the auction record at their desk.
Team and API
$1,500/mo
An API key for your systems, Treasury-bill result alerts, usage reporting, a named contact. A desk or research team feeding the data into its own models and systems.
Enterprise
from $5,000/mo
Redistribution, several teams, custom delivery and a service agreement. Institutions that redistribute the data or run it across several teams.
Local institutions in Africa
Local prices for domestic institutions

Who qualifies
- The contracting entity is incorporated, headquartered and licensed in the country: a pension scheme or administrator, SACCO, bank, insurer, microfinance bank, broker or dealer, or local fund manager.
- Its ultimate parent is African and headquartered in the same country.
- All users sit in that country, the data is used for the domestic book, and there is no redistribution.
- It is invoiced to the local entity and paid from a local account. The licence states the qualification; a false claim moves the contract to the list price from day one.
- Global and regional asset managers, sell-side desks and development finance institutions pay the US-dollar list price wherever their desk sits.
How to pay
Kenya: pay by M-Pesa or card in shillings at checkout. Elsewhere: a fixed US-dollar equivalent, paid by card through a payment link the desk sends, or by invoice.
